       Increasing Access to College:
         A Forum on Postsecondary

      Education & Disability
About this event
The Increasing Access to College project at Montclair State University invites you to attend a forum on postsecondary education and disability. The purpose of the event is to bring together people who are focused on transition programs, college, and disability. We will learn about opportunities for continuing to pursue higher education in New Jersey and about seeking individualized supports and services after high school. The target audience is adults 17+ and their family members who are interested in college and who are also likely to qualify for a public school transition program, DVRS and/or DDD support when they graduate high school.

1:00 - 2:00: Increasing Access to College Consortium Meeting (IACC)

The IACC The Increasing Access to College Consortium (IACC) is a forum for sharing ideas, experiences, and educational and community practices that can increase the knowledge and development of postsecondary programs that actively recruit students who identify as having disabilities. The IACC was formed in 2016 and includes staff, students, families, and allies from local and regional schools, service providers, and community organizations who seek to learn about and improve education and opportunities to enable individuals with disabilities to access university-based learning.

At this IACC meeting, we will review plans to expand IAC project programming at Montclair State University. After spending last year working together to talk about ideas and hopes, we are looking forward to sharing a draft proposal for a Comprehensive Transition Program and certificate program at Montclair State.

This event is made possible thanks to the support of the Kessler Foundation for the IAC Project.
